Lyons lashes Leinster cash refusal
Dublin football boss Tommy Lyons has hit out at the refusal of the Leinster Council to hand over a chunk of money to the Blues' holiday fund.
Dublin were involved up until the semi-final of this year's All-Ireland championship and filled out Croke Park several times.
The squad travel to South Africa in the new year and Lyons lashed: "I wonder what the Leinster Council coffers would be like this year if Dublin had lost to Wexford - which we nearly did - in the first round of the championship."
Leinster council chairman Nicky Brennan contested: "Although we won't be making a donation, other Dublin GAA projects will benefit when funding is coming from Central Council in the near future."
