Offaly expect to appoint managers soon

The Offaly County Board expect to appoint new managers in football and hurling by next week.

Tipperary selector Ken Hogan has emerged as a shock frontrunner to succeed Fr Tom Fogarty as hurling boss while a host of names have been mooted for the football position in the wake of Padraic Nolan's departure.

County chairman Brendan Ward said: "Committee's have been appointed to look for managers in both codes and we expect something formal to be done by maybe the end of next week.

"But it could be as early as Monday, these things tend to go at their own speed."
