Taoiseach to present GPA awards

An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has given rebel players' group the GPA a boost by agreeing to present this year's GPA SEAT Players' Awards.

The GPA have teamed up with car manufacturers SEAT and will award a car to the hurler and footballer of the year during the high profile event.

The ceremony, including monthly awards for the duration of the championship, will take place at Dublin's City West Hotel on November 8.
