Meath manager denies speculation

Meath hurling manager Michael Duignan has denied he's on the verge of a return to take over as boss in his native Offaly.

An All-Ireland winner with Offaly as a player, Duignan led Meath to the preliminary final in the Leinster championship this year in his first year of management.

He was tipped to take over from Fr Tom Fogarty in Offaly but said: "I've been working on a verbal agreement with the Meath County Board this year but I'm expecting something more formal to be ratified in the near future."
