Roscommon's Tobin quits as boss

Roscommon boss John Tobin is the latest high profile football manager to depart his post.

Tobin has accepted a full-time coaching position with the Connnacht Council and will step down as Ros' boss.

Tobin led Roscommon to a shock Connacht win last season but watched his side falter badly against Galway and Mayo this year.

He joins the likes of Pete McGrath (Down), Colm Browne (Laois), Eamon Coleman (Derry), Brian White (Antrim) and Mick O'Dwyer (Kildare) who all quit their posts this year.
