Kilkenny and Tipperary clash in hurling semi-final

Kilkenny and Tipperary meet in the Guinness All Ireland hurling championship semi-final at Croke Park this afternoon.

DJ Carey makes his return to the Cats side after almost a year on the sidelines, while Nicky English starts with Eddie Enright and Tommy Dunne in centre-field with Eugene O'Neill restored to the half forward line.

Toomevara man Tommy Dunne is looking for a big improvement from his side today. “Obviously our forwards have been a bit inconsistent this year, which is something we are a bit worried about so we need a very good performance on Sunday. We haven't had one for quite a while and it will take a huge lift of our performance to have a chance of beating Kilkenny,” he said.

Kilkenny boss, Brian Cody, said that while Tipperary has some outstanding players, they need to play well as a team to take the match.

Throw-in is at 3 30pm.
