O'Connor reaching his peak for semi

Jamesie O'Connor says he's at his peak coming into Sunday's All-Ireland SHC semi-final tie with Waterford at Croke Park.

O'Connor, 30, is in his ninth championship year and had been showing signs of slowing up this year but was brilliant against Galway last time out.

He said: "My form has been coming back steadily and I feel I'm a lot fitter now than I was earlier in the season. All the lads are kicking into form now and as a team I think we're very strong."

Memories of the 1998 Munster final between the two sides which Clare won have been to the fore.

But the dynamic half-forward said: "The only thing that matters from 1998 is that we got beaten by Offaly. That's my abiding memory of '98. It's a whole new ball game with Waterford now."
