Armagh grateful for draw

Armagh led Sligo by six points with fourteen minutes to go in yesterday's All-Ireland Football Quarter-Final at Croke Park but still failed to clinch a win.

A determined Sligo fought back to see them finish the tie on fifteen points to the Garden County's two goals and nine points.

Armagh manager Joe Kernan, said that his side was delighted to sill be in the Championship but should have been out yesterday.

"We had a few chances and didn't take them but Sligo was coming in droves at us. I was disappointed the way we played the last 15 minutes.

"I thought we used the ball well, the goals came from good early balls in and we didn't continue to do things like that. We took the wrong option too many times and we put ourselves under pressure as much as Sligo put us under pressure."

Armagh’s Enda McNulty said that the sending-off of Sligo wing-back David Durkin forced the side to start working as a unit and lifted their game.
