Cork are down to 14 men after the dismissal of Timmy McCarthy against Galway in their All-Ireland hurling qualifier game at Semple Stadium.

A Neil Ronan point levelled affairs at the break but Galway took control after the restart. Points from Eugene Cloonan (3), Kevin Broderick, Mark Kerins and Richie Murray saw the Tribesmen edge ahead.

McCarthy was dismissed for an off-the-ball incident that was spotted by the linesman.
