Tipperary senior football goalkeeper Philly Ryan faces an anxious week prior to the Munster senior football final against Cork in Semple Stadium, Thurles having picked up a leg injury while playing for his club Clonmel Commercials.

Ryan who has been Tipperary's number one custodian for a number of years has been unable to train fully over the past number of days and is having treatment for the injury on a regular basis.

And, there was further bad news for manager Tom McGlinchy when his sub goalie Brian Enright also picked up an injury playing for his club Cahir. At present, Tipperary have no goalkeeper.

Both players will continue to have treatment over the course of the next few days and fitness tests will be carried out on them to determine if they can take up their positions against Cork.
