Div 4 - Ward saves the day for Monaghan

Monaghan substitute Paul Ward threw his team a lifeline in injury time in this Div 4 National Hurling League Final at Mullingar when he struck with a match-saving goal.

Mayo appeared to be in control when they led by eight points at half-time, 1-11 to 1-03, and looked on course to return to Div 3 when Monaghan were reduced to 14 men 10 minutes into the second half.

However, a David Connolly goal in the 65th minute gave Monaghan renewed hope and they showed tremendous faith and courage to send this match to a replay at the same venue next Saturday.
