GAA: Kerins dropped in row over dual stars

Galway dual star Alan Kerins has been dropped from the county’s hurling panel because of his desire to play both codes.

Manager Noel Lane decided to drop the player because he has already told the panel that he will accept nothing less than 100% dedication from his hurlers.

Lane added that the door remains open for Kerins if he gives up his place in the senior football squad.

A similar row over dual players led to the resignation of Limerick hurling manager Eamon Cregan earlier this year, but he was reinstated to the job two weeks ago.
