Showing great flare, particularly in attack, Wexford eventually fashioned a 13 point victory over Derry.

Derry's cause looked close to hopeless when they trailed 0-9 1-0 after 23 minutes, their score coming from John O'Dwyer.

Wexford's best forward, Michael Jordan, along with Adrian Fenlon, stroked three points each before O'Dwyer completed a first half hat-trick.

Derry's challenge faded in the second half as Wexford shot for goal in the 37th minute before Stamp, 10 minutes from time, found the net to give the home side the points.
