GAA: Tipperary Camogie Board elects new chairperson
Thurles lady Margaret Skehan was elected chairperson of the Tipperary Camogie Board having succeeded outgoing chairperson Noel Hennessy who stood down from the post after a four year stint.
Hennessy presided over the most successful era in the history of Tipperary camogie, the county capturing a senior All-Ireland treble along with intermediate and junior national titles.
In the course of a wide-ranging address he spoke of the "wonderful enjoyment" he derived from his term at the helm.
He said he experienced a great sense of personal pride at the achievements of the county team and all associated with them and he would always have vivid memories of the golden era.
Officers elected: Chairperson Margaret Skehan; Vice-chairperson Patsy Carroll; Secretary Joan Harkin; Treasurer Rose Mannion; PRO Marion Grahan; Registrar Biddy Phillips.
