Waterford champions Ballygunner put in a storming finish to draw with Tipperary champions Toomevara in a Munster club senior hurling semi-final thriller at Thurles today.

Toomevara got a great start with a John O'Brien goal after 18 seconds but Ballygunner settled and were only one point behind at the break, 0-7 to 1-05.

Toomevara went four points clear in the third quarter and looked to be heading for victory. Back came Ballygunner with four points from Paul Flynn frees in six minutes to level.

Flynn had the chance of a winning point in the last minute but shot wide.

Flynn scored 10 of the Ballygunner points in a fine display.

Steven Frampton, Fergal Hartley, Paul Foley and Andy Moloney were others to shine for them.

George Frend was Toomevara's best player. Terry Dunne, Ken Dunne, Owen Breslane and Phil Shanahan were not far behind.
