GAA: Loughmore-Castleiney reinstated in Tipp championship

Tipperary GAA club Loughmore-Castleiney have been thrown a lifeline by the county board after they faced expulsion from this year's senior hurling championship.

The mid-Tipperary club were thrown out of the championship a week ago by the Tipperary County Board for having refused to have played extra time in their drawn quarter-final game with defending county champions Toomevara.

The Munster Council upheld Loughmore-Castleiney view and reinstated them on a technicality at a specially convened meeting in Limerick last night.

They now meet Toomevara in the replay on Bank Holiday Monday.
