GAA: Longford announce Connerton as new manager

The Longford County Board has sprung a surprise by appointing Denis Connerton as the new manager of their senior football side.

Connerton brings a wealth of experience, as he was a selector for three of the four years that outgoing manager Michael McCormack was in charge.

He also managed the Dromard side that won their first county championship two years ago.

He is currently manager of Leitrim county champions Allen Gaels.
