Camogie: Tipp make it three in a row
Tipperary 4-13 Kilkenny 1-06
Tipperary are the All Ireland senior Camogie champions for the third year in a row following a comprehensive win over rivals Kilkenny in windy Croke Park.
The champions got off to a great start with a Claire Grogan goal in the tenth minute followed by a Deridre Hughes goal a minute later.
Tipp used the wind to their advantage and a third goal from Eimear McDonnell in injury time left them ahead by 3-06 to 0-4. Any hope of Kilkenny revival were dashed within six minutes of resumption when Deirdre Hughes got her second goal.
Kilkenny battled hard but they were unable to get back into the game. Even though they did have a last-gasp consolation goal from Sinead Millea right at the end.
This was Tipp's third title in a row - they also won the junior final by 4-16 to 1-07, thereby winning the double on the day.
Seven of the junior team were also on the senior squad and won two All Ireland medals on the day.
