GAA: Win final for county says missing Tipp star O'Meara

Shattered Tipperary star Brian O’Meara has told his colleagues on the senior hurling team to focus on the All Ireland Final and win the game against Galway without him.

O’Meara lost his appeal against a one-month suspension following a hearing with the Games Administration Committee. His suspension stems from his dismissal against Wexford in the All Ireland Hurling Semi-Final replay.

"I am fiercely disappointed but having said that the team is bigger than any single one player and the lads have to focus on the All Ireland Final now and try to win it for the county," he said.

Tipperary manager Nicky English said: "I am very disappointed that Brian is deprived of playing in the All Ireland Final."
