Kilkenny have dropped their captain for Sunday's All-Ireland Hurling

Semi-Final against Galway at Croke Park.

Centre-forward and skipper Denis Byrne has been sensationally axed after

displaying indifferent form throughout the Leinster Championship.

Byrne's spot goes to Stephen Grehan, who is slotted in at left-half

forward, with John Power returning to centre-forward.

Power comes in for Canice Brennan, while All-Star defender Peter Barry

after returns after recovering from a broken finger, with Sean Dowling

retiring to the bench.

In one further move, the Cats bring Brian McEvoy into midfield.
