GAA previews
Today sees another round of matches in this year’s All Ireland Championship with a football game in Ulster, two football Quarterfinals in Leinster and a hurling Quarterfinal in Munster.
In Ulster, Down and Cavan play each other in Casemount Park with kick-off at half past three.
Both teams are going through a barren period at the moment with Cavan coach, Val Andrews, yet to win a championship match, while Down are expected to field as many as nine inexperienced players.
Croke Park is the venue for the two Quarterfinals today in Leinster.
Laois and Offaly kick-off the afternoon at quarter past two and Dublin and Longford follow that at four o’clock.
Offaly and Dublin are the favourites to progress to the Semi-finals although both Laois and Longford are both capable of causing an upset. In Munster, Cork play Limerick at Pairc Ui Chaoimh, kick-off is at half three.
Cork are favourites to overcome a Limerick side that had a mixed league campaign and that have a large number of young players in the team.
