GAA: TD wants Connacht venue for league final

A leading Mayo politician has called for next Sunday's National Football League final to be held in Connacht.

A venue for the game is to be decided later today, with Croke Park the most likely venue.

However, Mayo Fine Gael TD Enda Kenny has said it is pointless holding the match in Dublin when both sides were travelling from the same area.

He said that the two teams, Galway and Mayo, should toss up for home advantage, or failing that, the match should be held in Roscommon's Dr Hyde Park.
