In a cliff-hanger election at Tipperary GAA Board, John Ryan, the board's development officer won the chase to replace Sean Fogarty as delegate to the Munster Council.

Fogarty was elected vice-chairman of the council and had to resign as the Premier County's delegate.

Ryan, the Holycross-Ballycahill man, defeated prominent football board official Michael Power, by 52 votes to 51 in a nail-biting climax.
