Hurling: Birr/Seir Kieran match report

Birr 3-21, Seir Kieran 1-9

Birr retained the Offaly Senior Hurling title when they scored an emphatic 18-point victory over Seir Kieran in the long-delayed 2000 Final at St Brendan's Park, Birr.

A sixth-minute goal from man of the match Paul Molloy set Birr on their way and a brilliantly taken goal from Rory Hanniffy five minutes before half time left them leading 2-10 to 0-2 at the break.

Seir Kieran never really threatened the Birr lead in the second half.

A Billy Dooley goal lifted their spirits but Birr sealed their 15th title with Gary Hanniffy's 53rd minue goal.
