GAA: Promising footballer dies in Kilkenny crash

The South-East is in mourning for a promising young up-and-coming gaelic games star, who died in a road accident yesterday morning.

20-year-old Keith Madigan lost his life in the crash, which occurred just outside his home village of Mullinavat, Co Kilkenny.

He had been returning home from a funeral, having played for Kilkenny footballers against Wicklow earlier Sunday evening in the Leinster U-21 Championship.

He was also a mainstay in the Good Counsel New Ross side that won the All-Ireland Colleges Football title two years ago.
