Séamus Durack and Jackie O’Gorman were key men on the Clare team that won National Hurling League titles in 1977 and ‘78 but lost two Munster finals to Cork the same years. Forty years on, they have no regrets about the time of their lives, O’Gorman anyway. Though Durack still revisits a couple of refereeing decisions in ‘77.

One of the 1970s’ great hurling forces was the Clare team of 1976 to 1978.

They made three NHL Finals in a row, winning in 1977 and 1978. Their brand of play lit up many matches, leaving indelible memories for supporters and spectators. They reached the 1977 and 1978 Munster Finals, losing on both occasions to Cork.
