Eimear Scally edges Cork home

Cork 0-14 Monaghan 1-10: Eimear Scally produced a massive second-half display as champions Cork edged through against Monaghan in a nervy qualifier in Tullamore.

Scally landed five second-half points as the Rebels survived a scare to book a quarter-final clash with Connacht champions Galway on August 19, as All-Star Orla Finn also chipped in with a five-point haul before being called ashore.

“We came up to the edge of the cliff, as Ephie (Fitzgerald) says, and we weren’t going to be pushed off it,” said Scally afterwards.
