Brennan starred at full-forward, hitting 1-2 in the first 11 minutes as Ballyea overcame Clonlara. Brennan plays his club football with neighbours Clondegad, but after his All-Star nomination this year, he says he will stick to the big ball at county level.

“I don’t even need to answer that, no, no,” said Brennan. “I’ve always played hurling, Ballyea is my home club. I go next door to play football and that’s how I’m known as a Clondegad man.
