Kerry SFC quarter-finals: Kenmare topple Stacks as Dingle book date with Dr. Crokes

Colm Cooper's 1-5 tally paved the way for Crokes as they kept Kerins O'Rahilly's at bay.

The game saw a 40 minute interruption when  Kerins O'Rahilly's defender Giles O'Grady sustained a serious leg injury six minutes into the contest.

On resumption, the trio of Jack Savage, Barry John Keane and David Moran contributed 11 points for Kerins O'Rahilly's but Crokes proved to be too much, with Daithi Casey and Tony Brosnan kicking points.

Dingle 0-12

South Kerry 0-11

Paul and Conor Geaney contributed nine points between them as Dingle pulled off a surprise win over South Kerry.

The west Kerry side trailed by three and four points for large parts of the first half due to scores from South Kerry's attacking force of Bryan Sheehan, Daniel Daly and Greg Gibson.

It was not to be the county champions day however as they failed to register a point for the entirety of the final third.   

Dingle will now face Dr.Crokes in the semi-final.

Rathmore 1-12

Mid Kerry 0-13

Rathmore clawed back from a six point lead to propel themselves into the semi-finals with Shane Ryan netting a late goal at Fitzgerald Stadium.

Mark Reen contributed five points for the winners while on the Mid Kerry side, Liam Carey and Gary Sayers combined for nine points.

Kenmare 0-15

Austin Stacks 0-12

In a surprising turn of events, Kenmare eliminated club champions Austin Stacks. Paul O'Connor lead the charge with an eight point haul.

O'Connor was a constant from the mark as he converted four frees in the final 10 minutes. This turned a one point deficit into a three point lead and ultimately handed Kenmare the win.

For Stacks, Kieran Donaghy fired over a point and David Mannix kicked four, one from play.

Kenmare will now play Rathmore in the semi-final.
