RTÉ receives complaints over big match coverage

RTÉ have confirmed they received four formal complaints about their coverage of Sunday’s All- Ireland senior football final.

The national broadcasters’ press office yesterday said as they are now in a formal complaints procedure the exact nature of them can’t be commented upon. “Everyone who contacts RTÉ is invited to make a formal complaint if they so desire,” said an RTÉ press officer.

“This then goes into the formal complaints procedure.” Other than the four cases, RTÉ received nine pieces of complaint correspondence from the public ranging from “bias” against Mayo from the Sunday Game Live panel to the practice of showing replays when the ball was already back in play.
