James Brouder saves Limerick as Clare comeback falters

Limerick 2-13, Clare 1-13: A devastating mid-game stretch when they hit 2-8 with just a point in reply powered Limerick’s junior footballers to a Munster semi-final date with Kerry in the Gaelic Grounds yesterday.

There was little between the sides in the opening quarter: John Looney opened the scoring for Clare before Padraig Scanlon equalised with a free.

It was tit-for-tat thereafter with Scanlon and Seamus O’Carroll to the forefront for the hosts, while Michael Duffy was the go-to man in the Clare attack.
