Bonus points system would’ve saved Armagh

Fermanagh — not Armagh — would have been relegated from Division 2 if a bonus points system was implemented in this year’s Allianz Football Leagues.

Bonus points system would’ve saved Armagh

Kieran McGeeney’s side finished on six points along with Fermanagh, Derry and Meath but lost out on score difference, their -16 return inferior to Fermanagh (-2), Meath (-6) and Derry (-8).

However, were teams awarded a bonus point for scoring two goals and/or finishing within five points of the opposition in defeat, Armagh would have been awarded one more extra point than their Ulster counterparts, therefore finishing on 14 points with Meath, and would have avoided the drop to Division 3.
