Monaghan are through to a first Ulster U21 FC final since 2007 after a comfortable semi-final win over Armagh in Newry last night.

Second-half goals from substitutes Fearghal McMahon from a penalty and Francis Maguire crushed Armagh, who fell flat after a 22-point win over Down in the quarter-final.

Monaghan, who haven’t won a provincial title at this grade since 1999, kicked five points in a row in the 10 minutes before half time to take a decisive 0-9 to 0-6 lead at the break.
