Dublin received €1,460,400 in games development funding from Croke Park in 2015. Laois was next on the list as they were allocated €165,001 in 2015.

Sligo obtained €43,200 last year, and Carew, writing in his weekly column in the Sligo Champion, insisted that greater resources are required to keep the county competitive at underage level — the Sligo U21 footballers were beaten 1-18 to 0-8 by Roscommon in the Connacht semi-final last Saturday.
