Galway heading for sun after Armagh encounter
Kevin Walsh’s men, who are trying to end their five-season stay out of the top flight in the league, will travel to Portugal on Monday for a training camp.
“We have worked out a detailed training programme for each of the days and it will be great to get good time together to work on a few things. A lot of work has gone in over the past few months and this will help us step it up again, but our first priority is the Armagh match on Sunday. We know how tough that will be.”
The rearrangement of the Connacht U21 tie between Roscommon and Galway following a bereavement to tomorrow evening will mean both counties will have to delay team selection for their league action on Sunday against Donegal and Armagh respectively.
But Galway have a doubt about corner-back Eoghan Kerin who went off with a hamstring in the opening half of Sunday’s draw with Meath.
Elsewhere, Roscommon are unchanged for their Division 1 clash with Donegal while Tyrone have also gone with the same team as they face Meath.
