Micheál Donoghue: We left it too late

Micheál Donoghue admitted his team left it too late to put it up to Kilkenny but took some solace from almost snatching something from this trip to Nowlan Park.

“There’s no such thing as a moral victory but the thing is we put in a decent second-half performance,” he said.

“It was just disappointing. When we lost to Dublin, the lads were disappointed. Obviously, we were looking for reaction from the start of the game and we were disappointed the way the first- half went but, in fairness, they regrouped and pushed on in the second-half.”
