Jimmy Feehan: UCD Sigerson Cup win would be 'perfect tribute' to Dave Billings

Tipperary’s Feehan was among nine Dublin and Tipp U-21 players who studied at UCD and memorably locked arms during a minute’s silence for Billings before last year’s All-Ireland U21 semi.

Feehan and his UCD colleagues can make another emotional tribute to guru Billings by claiming a first Sigerson Cup in 20 years.

“It would be special to win it,” said Feehan.

“Everyone knows what it would have meant to Davy and how the GAA really was his life in UCD and how he brought on an awful lot of players.

"Any player who ever went to him was given open arms and he’d do as much as he possibly could to help you.”

UCD are hot tips to beat UL in today’s semi-final.

“We’re aware it’s 20 years since UCD won it but you can’t be thinking about that, you have to go out and create your own history,” said Feehan.
