Brendan Cummins wants Tipperary to match Kilkenny’s workrate

Brendan Cummins has urged Tipperary to lay down a marker against All-Ireland champions Kilkenny at Nowlan Park on Sunday — but described the task facing the Premier County as the “acid test” of their early-season credentials.

The Cats are smarting following last Sunday’s opening day League defeat against Waterford while Tipp scored an impressive 14-point victory over Dublin at Semple Stadium on Saturday.

Tipp’s record against Kilkenny in League and championship since the 2010 All-Ireland final is poor — with just two victories achieved from 12 matches.
