Tipperary GAA chiefs last night paid tribute to Billy Quinn — father of former Ireland international Niall — who passed away yesterday.

Quinn enjoyed huge success at underage level, winning Croke Cup, Dean Ryan and Harty Cup medals with Thurles CBS.

He went onto collect three Munster minor hurling championship medals (1950, 52 and 53) and two All-Ireland titles — captaining the side to their 1953 success.
