Impressive Wexford overpower Meath

Wexford 3-18 Meath 2-7: Ian Byrne top-scored with 1-7 as Wexford brushed aside the challenge of the hosts in the Walsh Cup at Páirc Tailteann.

Meath were boosted by an early goal from Shane Brennan but it was the Model County, with the last six points of the half, who led 0-12 to 1-4 at the break.

Third quarter goals from Byrne (penalty) and Harry Kehoe left it 2-12 to 1-6, and Wexford were never seriously troubled after that.
