Kevin Walsh lauds Galway workrate as Danny Cummins seals win

Galway 1-8 Leitrim 1-5: Galway manager Kevin Walsh praised the improved workrate of his side, but they still need another win next week against GMIT to reach the FBD league final.

Substitute Danny Cummins fired the winning goal for the Tribesmen 12 minutes from time, but Walsh was happiest with his side’s intent against a strong Leitrim outfit.

“Regardless of the result, the game was important for the young lads,” said Walsh. “It was great to see the lads were patient.
