Dunboyne shake off brave Bantry

Faster, stronger and with more football than Bantry Blues in Saturday’s All-Ireland decider at a rain-lashed Gaelic Grounds in Limerick, Dunboyne swept their way to an impressive victory, inspired by player of the match Vikki Wall. The Meath minor scored 1-6, including a crucial goal near the end of the first half that gave Dunboyne the edge — they led 1-3 to 0-1 at half-time.
Any hopes of a Bantry comeback were hurt in the third quarter as Dunboyne established a strong 1-8 to 0-2 lead, as Shelly Melia (who setup Wall’s goal), Ann-Marie Moffatt, Aoife Thompson (free) and Wall (2) had the Meath side in firm control.
