Tommy Toomey joins Tipperary backroom team

Tommy Toomey has been named as one of Liam Kearns’ Tipperary senior football selectors next season, after the former Limerick and Laois boss’s appointment was ratified by the county board in Thurles last night.

Toomey is the existing link from this year’s set-up, where he assisted Peter Creedon, along with managing the U21s to an All-Ireland final, in which they were narrowly beaten by Tyrone.

Toomey will again take charge of the U21s next season, with the senior management assisting him in both that role, as well as a similar one with the county’s junior side.
