John Sugrue says South Kerry's preparations have been challenging

Ten days had passed since the drawn county final when John Sugrue first met with his entire compliment of players below in South Kerry.

The squad had convened for a recovery session on the Sunday evening in Killarney, but no ball was kicked until last Wednesday evening — a full week and a half after the 0-9 stalemate with Legion.

St Mary’s Munster IFC semi-final last Saturday and a handful of county league games over the weekend meant no session enjoyed full attendance in the week after the heated Kerry county final.
