The 11-time All-Ireland-winning manager will take the opportunity to link himself between the two panels as he looks to have a more hands-on role in the development of players, assuming a supervisory role with the U21s.

Following fellow Sunday Game panellist Dónal Óg Cusack into inter-county management, former star forward Eddie Brennan was ratified as the new U21 manager, replacing Brian Ryan. Brennan, 37, led Lisdowney to a junior county title in 2013.
