The Galway hurling saga could be about to come to a conclusion with figures key to the stand-off making themselves available to the arbitration process in recent days.

It’s now exactly two weeks since Galway chief executive John Hynes confirmed in a statement that the board had appointed an independent mediator in the hope of resolving the differences between the 2015 panel and manager Anthony Cunningham.

However, due to a variety of reasons, not everyone involved was in a position to comply with the mediator.
