The first remarkable thing about him as an adult hurler was that after getting his first championship start with Kilkenny it took him three years to get his second championship start. Next there was Barry. Although Barry doesn’t come into this story much he’s hurled away happily with O’Loughlins for years at various levels and last season he won a county junior B medal with them. Winning a county junior B medal can be like winning an All-Ireland too.
