David Lowney inspirational as clinical Clonakilty power to county crown

Clonakilty made light of the inclement weather conditions with a superb team performance.
Clonakilty produced a devastating attacking performance which propelled them to a comprehensive county final triumph. Bantry Blues started brightly initially as they recorded a brace of early points. Clonakilty soon settled into their groove however as they established a dominance in every sector of the pitch. Inter-county dual ace David Lowney who played a pivotal role throughout netted a brace of expertly taken goals, which enabled his side to hold an eight-point lead at the interval.
Clonakilty continued their dominance in the second half with ace attackers Sean McEvoy, Sean O’Donoghue and Ross Mannix all influential.
Clonakilty effectively ended the game as a contest when Sean O’Donoghue netted from close range in the 51st minute. Bantry fought to the end but they were repelled by an impressive Clonakilty defensive rearguard.
There were euphoric scenes at the finish when impressive Clonakilty captain Tiernan O’Connell was presented with the cup.
