The Muskerry side certainly deserve it because from the throw-in they dictated this game, making light of the very difficult underfoot conditions, and displayed commendable heart when falling three points down with five minutes of normal time remaining.

Carrigaline struggled to cope with the tenacity and commitment of their opponents for three quarters of the game, but a superb goal by substitute Billy Pope in the 47th minute changed all that and they looked the likely winners as they clung to a point lead deep into injury time, only to be denied by Goulding’s brilliant equalising score.
