Cork SFC wrap: champions dethroned as west dominates county semi line-up

The Haven will meet their neighbours and rivals O’Donovan Rossa from Skibbereen on Oct 4th after ending Ballincollig’s reign in Dunmanway on Saturday night.

Cork’s Brian Hurley contributed 1-6, his brothers Michael (0-3) and Stephen (0-1) as the Haven edged Ballincollig 1-14 to 1-11 in a high tempo clash. Castlehaven recovered from the concession of an early Ballincollig penalty, converted by Cian Dorgan to lead 1-7 to 1-3 at the interval. Hurley’s goal in the 23rd minute was an opportunist effort, as he fisted the ball past keeper Jack Gibbons.
